Quick and easy summer superfood snack
Avocados are a fruit whose many health benefits. They are believed to promote healthy hair growth and preventing hair loss and are high in healthy fats. These fats benefit many functions in your body, including the skin health. They are also a good source of vitamin E, as well as helping to promote elasticity and moisture in skin 1.
Goji berries, are also known as Lycium barbarum. These are often found as dried red berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Goji berries, contain antioxidants, which may help protect the body against damage from free radicals. In addition, goji berries provide 11 essential amino acids, vitamin C, minerals, carotenoids, and polysaccharides 2. They are believed to help protect skin against ultraviolet damage as well as helping to assist in over production of melanin 3.
- 3 avocados, ripe.
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced.
- 3 tbsp, fresh cilantro, chopped.
- Goji berries to taste
- Sprinkle in some Hemp Hearts
- 1 lime, juiced.
- 1/2 tsp sea salt.
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits and then scoop out the insides with a spoon, leaving them as whole as you can.
Cut the two avocados into chunks.
- Mash 1 avocado
Place the mashed avocado in a medium bowl. Mix in lime juice and cilantro. Mix together well. Add in the avocado chunks. Mix until they are coated. Add in the sea salt to taste.
- Sprinkle in goji berries and hemp hearts.
